I like to have (one or more) little countdown clock always on top on the desktop. I found this one http://www.drive-software.com/freedesktoptimer.html (http://www.drive-software.com/freedesktoptimer.html), but when the time interval expire it need to be reset .

do you know a better one?

I use one called "TimeLeft" - free and works ok.

Thats the one I use too. I have not used it in a while but it seemed to work well for ROT timing.
