Last night there was an issue with the "remote server" which I imagine means whatever UO server it is I log into here from south Louisiana. After extensive checking, I determined that it was not anything on my computer or with my internet connection. I've now contacted EA via their support email and received their auto-response stating they will get back to me within 3 days. (Time for them to recover from their hangovers after the 15th anniversary party, lol.)
I also must attend a local convention next weekend - CONtraflow II in Kenner, Louisiana (http://www.contraflowscifi.org/ (http://www.contraflowscifi.org/) for those curious - you'll find me listed under Guests - Bolesny), so if they don't get this fixed sooner than 3 days, I might be out of commission until a week from now. (So much for my town loyalty and virtues, sigh.)
BTW, the error I am getting is a patch error:
The patch client encountered corruption in the file [patcher.prod.sig] on the remote server. Please try the patch operation again.
Oh well. Here's hoping no one else is afflicted with this error message.
Have you tried to log in without the patch file? e.g.: Start the UO.exe file directly from your UO directory.
actually client.exe is better to start
