Warning about trash barrels in home

I have tested this i placed a trash barrel in my house and dumped black rock in it and waited the 3 minutes and got 0 points went to town and dropped a br in one by bank and got points!
I have found the house trash needs to be secured before it works
I always secure my trash barrel so I dont have a 125 limit. If secured you can keep adding to the trash barrel with weight or number restrictions.
I seem to be getting points by using my secured trash barrel.
I´ve gotten points from 3 homes and one public trash can.

Glad I read this first. I've never secured a trash barrel either.
They have changed the secure trash barrel a bit (and I think fixed the unsecured trash barrel to work correctly)
The secured one has no weight limitations but will only destroy 125 items max every 3 mins.
I guess none of mine are secured cuz i have the weight limit on them.
I musta tried the home one before they fixed it or after.
Regardless of whether I secured it or not, I lost a couple of fireworks wands and their points.
Hit a town one threw in the same wands got all my points for those. Sooo no home tryin turnins for me anymore.
Not sure what to even GET for all the points considering not much on the npc turn in list is floating my boat.
I got a firepit, cuz I didn't have one, bout it so far ! No clue what I will get with all me points yet.
I guess I might get a silly frog outfit , I duno, I'm just not really enthused bout most of the offerings ! lol
